CREST Mathematics Olympiad (CMO) details 2022-23

CREST Mathematics Olympiad is an exam that is held online for the students of KG to Class 10 to test their mathematical reasoning skills. This exam is a multilevel exam.

For KG to class 1 & 2, the exam conducted will be of a single level, level-1 which will be objective based and of 45 minutes.

For class 3 to 10, the exam conducted will be of two levels, again objective but of 60 minutes.

The Crest Mathematics Olympiad (CMO) syllabus is based on NCERT/CBSE/ICSE boards.

CMO Dates-2022

Level 1: 9th Dec 2022, 6th Jan 2023.

Level 2: 3rd Feb 2023.

Practical Mathematics: Basic Concepts on Comparison (Big-Small, Front-Back, Full-Empty, Heavy-Light, In-Out, More-Less, Right-Left, Same-Different, Tall-Short, Thick-Thin, Top-Bottom)
Numbers (Number names (1-50), Before, After, Between Numbers (1-20), Skip Counting (2 and 5))
Playing Numbers (1-digit addition and subtraction, Putting Signs like \’>\’, \'<\’ and \’=\’)
Time (Days of a week, Months in a year)

Practical Mathematics: Rational Numbers, Squares and Square Roots, Cubes and Cube Roots, Exponents and Powers, Comparing Quantities, Algebraic Expressions and Identities, Linear Equations in One Variable, Understanding Quadrilaterals, Constructions, Mensuration, Visualizing Solid Shapes, Data Handling, Direct and Inverse Variations, Factorization, Introduction to Graphs, Playing with Numbers.

Class 9

Practical Mathematics: Number Systems, Polynomials, Coordinate Geometry, Linear Equations in Two Variables, Introduction to Euclid’s Geometry, Lines and Angles, Triangles, Quadrilaterals, Areas of Parallelograms and Triangles, Circles, Constructions, Heron’s Formula, Surface Areas and Volumes, Statistics, Probability.

Class 10

Practical Mathematics: Real Numbers, Polynomials, Pair of Linear Equations in Two Variables, Quadratic Equations, Arithmetic Progressions, Triangles, Coordinate Geometry, Introduction to Trigonometry, Some Applications of Trigonometry, Circles, Constructions, Areas Related to Circles, Surface Areas and Volumes, Statistics, Probability.

Awards:

KG to Class 1:

The students who achieve 60% and more in the exam(s), will be awarded a Merit Certificate and Star Medal.

Class 3 to 10:

Top 30% students of Grades 3-10 appearing for CMO Level 1 Online exams will qualify for Online Level 2 Exams.

Overall Top 3 students globally each from Grades 3-10 for CREST Olympiads will be awarded with Achiever’s Trophy and Merit Certificate for each subject. The top 3 students will also receive Olympiad Success Gift Vouchers of INR 10,000 each.

Top 3 students (registered through school) from every school with more than 25 students in a Grade appearing for an Online Olympiad exam will be awarded with a Merit Certificate. The top 3 students will also receive Olympiad Success Gift Vouchers of INR 1250, INR 1000 and INR 750, respectively.

Also:

  • All Online students, who qualify for the Level 2 exam and in the Level 2 exam they secure marks which aren’t in the bottom 15%, will be awarded a Merit Certificate
  • Gold Medal will be given to all students with percentile 96 and above and to the students whose zonal rank is 10 or less
  • Silver Medal will be given to all students with percentile 93 till 96
  • Bronze Medal will be given to all students with percentile 90 till 93
  • Every participant will be awarded a digital participation certificate. This will be available in the dashboard of the participant.
  • If a student meets 2 or more criteria, then he/she will qualify for a higher award.
