Science Olympiad Foundation’s (SOF) International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) for Class 9 is taken at two levels:
Level-1: Which is organised at respective schools. The students need to get registered at their respective schools. The test syllabus is based on the curriculum of CBSE/ICSE/State Boards.
Level-2: This level is for the qualifiers of the level-1 for class 3 to 12. The qualifiers are:
- International level: Those who appeared in the level-1 internationally and stand in the top 5% overall.
- State/Zone level: The topper rank upto 25 from all the zones and class.
- School level: If a class has total 10 registrations, then the topper and also scoring at least 50% (qualifying marks).

IMO Syllabus for Class-9
Logical Reasoning: Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning.
Mathematical Reasoning : Number Systems, Polynomials, Coordinate Geometry, Linear Equations in Two Variables, Introduction to Euclid’s Geometry, Lines and Angles, Triangles, Quadrilaterals, Areas of Parallelograms and Triangles, Circles, Constructions, Heron’s Formula, Surface Areas and Volumes, Statistics, Probability.
Everyday Mathematics : Syllabus as per Mathematical Reasoning.
Achievers Section: Higher Order Thinking Questions – Syllabus as per Mathematical Reasoning.
