Children’s after-school extracurricular activities have been shown to be an excellent way for them to meet new people and develop important skills. It allows students to pursue new hobbies, acquire confidence, and develop critical life skills like leadership, teamwork, and public speaking.  So this Summer, following are the activities you can indulge your child into.

Here’s a list of 6 entertaining extracurricular activities for kids.

Art

No need to enroll in a painting or clay class. Simple sketching can be as much fun as mixing colours and making clay pieces. By routinely returning home after school hours with drawings ready to put on the refrigerator, your child may reap the rewards of higher attendance at school!

Athleisure

Not only park aerobics or activities like skating help your child develop stronger physical skills, but it also boosts self-esteem and fosters group togetherness. Such extracurricular activities are even favorite among the children.

Music

For a variety of reasons, this extracurricular activity is advantageous. It not only teaches rhythm and musical abilities to children, but it also encourages them to coordinate their eye and hand motions.

Martial Arts or Sports

Allow your child to join an athletic team if he or she enjoys playing a sport. Participating in sports is not only beneficial to your child’s health, but it also provides an opportunity for him or her to develop leadership and social skills. Encourage him or her to try martial arts if they aren’t interested in standard sports.

Volunteering

Volunteer work as an extracurricular activity for kids should be emphasized from an early age so that children learn the value of giving back. They will gain a sense of belonging and begin to grasp the actual meaning of generosity.

Swimming

Swimming is not only an enjoyable hobby, but it is also an excellent form of fitness. It permits joints to move in more than two directions, when most other sports only allow for two. It will keep your child in shape and help them avoid heart problems in the future. Teach children to swim as soon as possible so that they will not be afraid as adults.

There are a slew of more extracurricular activities like cycling, boxing, chess and so on. However, based on your child’s interest you can get them to choose any one of these for starters and witness their personality and character develop.
